Anjappar Chetinad Restaurant

It is very rare to find a person with out knowing Anjappar Chetinad Restaurant in Chennai. Anjappar, a man from the district now known as Karaikudi, started a mess in Royappettah in the 1960s, he introduced a special brand of cooking from Nattarasankottai. The taste of the new cuisine was well appreciated and satisfied diners soon spread its name throughout the city. Business boomed at the mess and Anjappar soon opened the restaurant that bears his name. For many years it was a landmark in Royapettah, until - when the old building that housed it was to be demolished to make way for a new construction - it was shifted to Nungambakkam. Long before then, Chettinad preparations had become permanent features on the menus of every other restaurant, and the cuisine had become the very flavour of the city.

I have visited almost all its branches in chennai and i love dining there. It is usually a bit crowdy but then it is worth waiting. When i start this post i thought of listing all its branches in Chennai but i thing the list is huge. They also have their branches in Coimbatore in TamilNadu, Bangalore, Pondichery, Dubai, Srilanka, Abudhabi, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada.
You have a wide range of dishes available in the Online menu. You can have the list aside while you make the order through phone.

Good quality food, reasonable price, large space to dine, fast service make it more magnetic.
